Sinus Lift Surgery
If you’ve been told you don’t have enough bone in your upper jaw for dental implants, we have a solution that may help. A sinus lift is a safe and effective way to rebuild your jaw after bone loss has occurred. This procedure gently adds the space needed to safely secure an implant and dental restoration—for you to achieve a permanent, confident smile.

How the Sinus Lift Procedure Works
We want you to feel completely informed and at ease about your care. During a sinus lift, we gently lift the gum tissue to reach the bone underneath. We then carefully create a small opening to reveal the sinus membrane. With great precision, we lift this membrane up to make room below it.
Into this new space, we place a bone graft material. This material acts like a scaffold, encouraging your own bone to grow and fill the area. Finally, we close the site gently so it can heal.
Healing is a unique journey for everyone. Typically, it takes about 4 to 12 months for the new bone to fully integrate and become strong enough for an implant. In some cases, if conditions are right, we may even be able to place the implant at the same time as the lift.
Why You Might Need a Sinus Lift
Losing a tooth in the upper jaw can lead to changes you might not see right away. Over time, the bone in that area can shrink or resorb. Additionally, your sinus floor—the bottom of your sinus cavity—can naturally expand downward into the space where the tooth roots used to be.
This often leaves too little bone height to hold a dental implant securely. A sinus lift solves this problem by gently raising that sinus floor back up and adding bone material underneath. This builds the height needed to support a new tooth, making restoration possible where it wasn’t before.
Are You a Candidate for a Sinus Lift?
Every smile is different, and we take the time to understand yours. To see if a sinus lift is right for you, we use advanced diagnostic tools like 3D CBCT scans and digital X-rays. These images give us a clear, detailed view of your bone structure and sinus anatomy.
We will look at factors like how much natural bone you currently have and your overall health. We also consider your timeline for when you hope to have your implants placed. Based on this, we create a personalized plan tailored just for you.
The Benefits of Sinus Lift Surgery

It’s good to have questions, and we’re here to provide clear, honest answers.
A sinus lift is a surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw around your molars and premolars. It involves lifting the sinus membrane upward to make room for new bone, which creates a strong foundation for dental implants.
Healing times vary for each person. Generally, it takes between 4 to 9 months for the bone graft to bond fully with your natural bone. We will monitor your progress closely to tell you exactly when your jaw is ready for implants.
Your wellbeing is our main priority. We use anesthesia and sedation options to ensure you don’t feel pain during the procedure. Afterward, you may have some swelling or mild discomfort, but we will provide you with a plan and medication to keep you comfortable as you heal.
