Scheduling and Appointments
We will confirm your surgery date and time with you. To ensure a relaxed start, please plan to arrive at our office 15-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This will give you plenty of time to check in and complete any final paperwork. If you have any questions or need to make a change, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
In the Days Leading Up to Surgery
A little preparation can make a big difference in your comfort and recovery. If you are receiving sedation or anesthesia, please arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you after your procedure.
Set up a comfortable spot at home where you can rest and relax. It’s also helpful to fill your pantry and refrigerator with soft, easy-to-eat foods like soup, yogurt, and smoothies. Remember to fill any medications we’ve prescribed for you in advance, so everything you need is ready to go.
The Day Before Your Surgery
To help your body prepare for a successful procedure, please follow these simple steps the day before your surgery.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24 hours
- Get a full night of restful sleep
- Confirm your transportation and companion arrangements for the next day
The Day of Your Surgery
On the morning of your procedure, please remember to:
- Follow any fasting instructions we provided, especially if you are receiving sedation
- Take only approved medications with a small sip of water, as instructed by your surgeon
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and supportive, flat shoes
- Avoid wearing jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, or makeup
- Brush and rinse your teeth thoroughly before leaving for our office
- Arrive a little early to complete any final forms without feeling rushed
If you have any questions or need to reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible.
