About Dr. Yen

Dr. Yen specializes in a range of advanced procedures, including dental implant surgery, full-arch rehabilitation, bone grafting, wisdom teeth removal, and treating impacted canines. He is also highly skilled in intravenous sedation and general anesthesia — helping his patients feel calm and prepared as they go into treatment. Born and raised in Los Gatos, Dr. Yen is proud to serve the community he has always called home. He finds it meaningful to care for the neighbors, friends, and family that he grew up alongside.

Education

Dr. Yen’s path into medicine emerged from curiosity, dedication, and a drive to truly master his craft. He earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA before going on to dental school at the University of Southern California (USC), where he distinguished himself as a scholar. He earned multiple scholarships and gained membership in the prestigious OKU honor society. From there, he pursued one of the most demanding training paths in dentistry: a dual-degree program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Kings County Hospital Center and SUNY-Downstate in New York, where he earned both his DDS and MD. That dual training isn’t just a credential — it means Dr. Yen understands your care from a whole-body perspective.

Fifteen years and more than 25,000 procedures later, Dr. Yen brings a depth of experience that’s genuinely rare. He has placed over 7,500 dental implants, completed more than 100 fixed full-arch restorations, and helped thousands of patients reclaim their smiles and their quality of life. His years working in busy, high-volume New York practices shaped him into the precise, adaptable, and compassionate surgeon he is today — someone who has seen just about everything and tackles a challenge with composure.
